Naga: New Music For Gamelan
Gamelan Padhang Moncar / Gamelan Taniwha Jaya

Jack has been involved with gamelan music in Wellington since 2010, playing in the groups Gamelan Padhang Moncar (Javanese) and Gamelan Taniwha Jaya (Balinese). During this time they have performed at festivals such as WOMAD and Homegrown (performing with the band Minuit) and numerous cultural events around New Zealand. In 2013 they recorded for the soundtrack of The Hobbit.
In 2013 the two groups travelled to Indonesia for a three-week tour, performing traditional works and new compositions. Jack played in both groups and wrote two pieces that were performed throughout the tour. A CD of the original works performed on the tour, Naga: New Music for Gamelan was released by Rattle Records in 2014.
